Prophets, angst and passion! Fight & life in any rhythm given. I wish the Lord not to buy me a Mercedes Benz but to install the passion that Dan Smith (@thedancemyth ) displays in his poetic performances with beautiful melodic guitar from Chris Nelson (@christinenelson). I am in disgust that it took me till 2013 to discover this great group of passion and fire, I need this top up of breath and discovery.
Hailing from Nevada and Colorado, Listener are on another journey for my love of spoken word. A lyrical joy that Shakespeare would be salivating over and Chris Nelson is a musician’s joy of beautiful melodies. Character is an understatement and I can’t write too much as it feels like I’m just licking arse but maybe as a negative is that sometimes Dan’s accent is too strong but then that is part of the charm (not really a negative). Also, don’t know if I c0uld cope with a whole gig as after two tunes I’m shattered with emotion and ideas.
Not sure if Dan has some sort of condition, part of me would be a little disappointed if he didn’t as I think it just adds to the performance of the common man taking a stand against the normalities of this apathetic world we live in. Thank you Listener from the bottom of my wooden heart!
This is music like no other and you can’t chat while listening so S T F U and enjoy passionate lyrics like.
Your hand in mine, my fingers in your veins connected
our bones grown together inside
our hands entwined, your fingers in my veins braided
our spines grown stronger in time
because are church is made out of shipwrecks
from every hull these rocks have claimed
but we pick ourselves up, and try and grow better through the change
so come on yall and let’s wash each other with tears of joy and tears of grief
and fold our lives like crashing waves and run up on this beach
come on and sew us together, were just tattered rags stained forever
we only have what we remember
